Genre
My favorite
genre Trillers. Suspense
thrillers to be exact. I like the way you can never guess what’s going to happen
next. For romantic dramas, you always almost know the full storyline or how
things are going to happen. But for suspense thrillers even if you know what’s happening, there are always plot twists that come out of nowhere.
I also like how
you always feel like your going through it with the main characters. e.g. In
prison break. You got to follow Michael Scofield and his struggle to break his innocent
brother out of Prison. In suspense thrillers, even the main characters can get
killed off.
Historical Fiction
Historical Fiction
is a Literal Genre, and it’s basically when a plot takes place in the past. In Historical
Fictions they usually base their stories on real-life events from the past with
fictional characters. e.g. the titanic.
In a Historical
Fiction the character could be based on an imaginary or a real person from the
past. The plot must match the timeline e.g. If you were going to make a story
based on world war The Vietnam war make sure you have the time and events down
correctly. Also, make sure your character acts according to the time period. E.g.
Princesses and slaves wouldn’t have the same luxuries, in the 1800s.
The reason I have
chosen historical fiction is not only is it the closest thing to time
traveling we can experience. It also gives us an insight into how life may have
looked back then.
A Thriller is a genre of a movie novel or play, with an exciting plot that revolves around suspense
or anticipation. It is usually based around crime and, is good for keeping you
at the edge of your seat with a roller coaster of emotions. Thrillers are the
type of fiction where the characters are always at risk or dangers. Subgenres:
suspense, psychological, action, and supernatural.
A Triller must
show what the character's motives are. What are they trying to achieve, what do
they need? or what do they want? It must also have a lot of twists and turns to make it difficult for the main characters to get what he/she what’s or needs.
Thrillers should give you a satisfying ending, whether it's good or bad the
ending must fit well with the story.
I like thrillers
for similar reasons to why I like suspense thrillers, but I basically like the
mystery and tension behind it. It's not like horror where it's too scary and it's
not like dramas where it’s too predictable.
A crime film is a
fictional film genre, that involves many aspects of crime, criminals and their
motives. This genre can show so many other genres such as drama and gangsters. But
it doesn’t always have to be all bad it can also include mystery, suspense and
comedy.
I think with
crime films, it should always show the good as well as the bad. I feel like it’s
important to showcase the main character's or villains’ sensitive side e.g. why
they chose the crime life or even show what they cherish the most like family,
pets, or a specific item. I feel like it's important to show the reality of
things like drug trafficking, gangs, robbery, etc.
I personally feel like crime films opens our eyes more to real-life events in real-life issues. I think that we sometimes forget about the crimes that happen around us. especially if we aren’t really exposed to these kinds of issues. On top of that, it really highlights the pressures and struggles that we teens/young adults go through which can often lead us to turn into crime.
